For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions. Refrigerate leftovers. You Will Need: 1-1/2 cups water. 1-1/2 cups milk. 3 tablespoons butter. Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Add potatoes to 1.5-quart casserole dish; set aside. Heat water, milk and butter to boiling in 2-quart saucepan. Watch carefully to avoid boil over! Carefully pour liquid over potatoes; stir until thoroughly blended. Let stand 1 minute; stir. Sprinkle topping over potatoes. Bake 10 to 15 minutes, or until topping is lightly browned. Make it Your Own: After baking, sprinkle casserole with one of these toppings: cooked bacon; cheddar or parmesan cheese; fresh chives or parsley. Tip: Serve with sour cream.
