Natural source of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant. You can see our quality! To Your Good Health®. An employee-owned company. The creamy texture and delicate, nutty flavor of cranberry beans make them an excellent choice for soups, pasta dishes and cold bean salads. They are high in fiber and a good source of iron. Dear friends, I can remember learning about the glories of beans when I was a young lad in grammar school. Just before spring holiday, our teacher gave us glass jars filled with soil and a handful of brightly colored beans. I pressed those living seeds into the dirt and when we returned a week later, we were astounded by the sight of the green shoots that had sprung forth. My sense of wonder with beans, their pleasant flavors and healthful bounty thrives on in my line of heritage beans. Cranberry beans have a velvety texture and mildly sweet flavor that some liken to the taste of chestnuts. Distinctive crimson streaks make these luscious legumes as beautiful as they are tasty, so it is no surprise that cranberry beans and their close relative, the Borlotti bean, are prized in many parts of Europe. They are especially popular in Italian cuisine, used in robust dishes like pasta e Fagioli. I hope that you will delight in this old world favorite by cooking a hearty portion for you and yours. To your good health, Bob Moore. Bob says, "try these beans in your pressure cooker!" Find more delicious recipes at www.bobsredmill.com.
