Siggi's® Strained Non-Fat Yogurt Peach. Icelandic style skyr. 0% Milkfat. Grade A. 11g Sugar. 15g Protein. 120 Calories. Net Wt. 5.3 oz (150 g). At Siggi's, we make yogurts with simple, natural ingredients. Our products are based on Scandinavian dairy traditions, such as skyr, the traditional Icelandic yogurt. Also, our products don't contain any of those dreadful artificial sweeteners. We only use milk from farmers. We only use milk from farmers who do not use growth hormones like rBST. I hope you enjoy, - Siggi. Live Active Cultures: S. Thermophilus, L. Delbrueckii Subsp. Bulgaricus, B. Lactis, L. Acidophilus, L. Delbrueckii Subsp. Lactis. Why make your own yogurt? I still get this question from time to time. The main reason is that I always found the yogurt on the shelves in the US too sweet. I wanted subtle flavor and less sugar. I also really missed the thickness of skyr, the yogurt from my home, Iceland, where skyr is as traditional as apple pie is in the States. I was mad about skyr growing up. So in 2004 I started making my own at home. After some gruesome trial and error, it started to taste quite delicious. Skyr, that's Icelandic for thick yogurt! A rather old tradition: Skyr has been a staple of the Icelandic diet for more than 1,000 years. It is a strained yogurt made from cow's milk. Traditionally, skyr is made from the skim milk after the cream has been floated off to make butter. Like milk, regular yogurt is mostly water, but with skyr, that water is strained away. In other words, one cup of siggi's skyr requires four times more milk than a regular cup of yogurt. Not so much sugar: Mainstream yogurt can have up to 25g of sugar per serving. Our flavored varieties have 8-11g and are sweetened with fruit and a touch of agave nectar or cane sugar. Our plain variety has no added sugar. I would also like to add that we absolutely do not use any artificial sweeteners such as aspartame; I shudder at the mere thought. We work with nice farmers: We source our milk from family farms in New York State and Wisconsin where the cows are not injected with any kind of hormones. Further, we do not use any artificial preservatives, colorings, or thickness. Thank you, - Siggi. Simple ingredients, not a lot of sugar. At least 25% less sugar than top three leading brands: Siggi's at 9-11g vs. 13-16g per 5.3oz. All natural. Milk from grass-fed cows. No aspartame. No sucralose. No gelatin. No artificial colorings. No preservatives. No high fructose corn syrup. No rBST. Milk produced without the use of rBST. Certified Gluten-Free®. Recycle the paper sleeve separately from the cup.
