Beef Stew: Total Time: 2 hours. Makes 8 servings. You Will Need: 1 pkg. McCormick Seasoning Mix. 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes. 3 tbsp flour. 2 tbsp oil. 3 cups water. 5 cups cut-up fresh vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, onions and celery. 1. Coat beef with flour. Heat oil in large deep skillet or Dutch oven on medium heat. Add beef; cook until browned on all sides. 2. Stir in seasoning mix and water. 3. Bring to boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add vegetables; simmer 1 hour or until beef and vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Thicken stew with additional flour, if desired. Must be cooked for food safety. Kitchen Tips: Quick & Easy Beef Stew: Use 2 lbs. boneless beef, sirloin, trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes. Coat beef with flour and brown as above. Stir in Seasoning Mix, water and 5 cups frozen vegetables for stew. Bring to boil. Cover. Simmer 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
