GIANT & MARTIN'S ALERTS CUSTOMERS TO GREAT RANGE BRAND ALL NATURAL GROUND BISON MEAT RECALL
Carlisle, PA Following a manufacturer's recall by Rocky Mountain Natural Meats, GIANT and MARTIN'S alerted customers to the recall of packaged ground and tenderized bison meat due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination.
The following product carried in GIANT and MARTIN'S stores has been recalled:
o 16-ounce packages of "GREAT RANGE BRAND ALL NATURAL GROUND BISON." This product has a "sell or freeze by" date of June 21, June 22 or June 24, 2010 and a UPC Code of 00-16447-10090.
The product bears the establishment number "EST. 20247" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Customers who have purchased this product should return any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to a GIANT Food Store or MARTIN'S Food Market for a full refund.
E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure.
