Richmond, VA  MARTIN'S today announced a $12,000 sponsorship to the First Market Mile Kids Run on Saturday, March 27th. The Kids Run is held annually prior to the annual Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K.

"One of MARTIN'S core charitable missions is to improve the quality of life for children, through our support of children's hospitals, local schools and an emphasis on encouraging kids to eat healthier," said Jim Scanlon, regional vice president. "We are proud to support this year's Kids Run, which promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for youngsters in our community."

Registration is $20 and still being accepted online through March 23 for kids ages 5-12 to participate. Participants will each receive a t-shirt and race number have the opportunity to cross the same finish line as the 10k, where they will be awarded with commemorative finishers' medals.
