GIANT FOOD STORES TO CLOSE WARRINGTON STORE
Carlisle, PA – GIANT Food Stores today announced it will close its Warrington, PA store located at 389 Easton Road on November 2, 2013.
“This difficult decision comes as part of our ongoing assessment of our store fleet and our goal of ensuring we have the right number of stores to serve customers in the greater Philadelphia market with convenient locations and great service,” said Rick Herring, president. “We look forward to opening our new Flourtown replacement store and a brand new store in Newtown Square before the end of the year.”
Warrington customers are encouraged to shop at one of GIANT’s nearby locations in New Britain (approximately three miles away) or Warminster. All impacted associates will be offered positions in surrounding stores.
GIANT currently has no plans to close any other stores. The Warrington GIANT is twelve years old and was acquired from Safeway, Inc. in November 2010. GIANT continues to operate more than eighty stores in Greater Philadelphia including 20 stores in Bucks County.
